3. Punishing for Simple Mistakes
While you do not want to excuse poor behavior, you also do not want to use negative methods for punishments when your dog makes a mistake or has an accident. Keep all disciple positive, and redirect your Shih Tzu whenever you see them doing something they should not do.
4. Not Socializing
Socializing is critical to the overall well-being of any dog. Most Shih Tzus enjoy being around other dogs, so take your pet to the dog park, plan a "pup play date" with a friend, or call your local boarding facility to inquire about doggie daycare services that provide your Shih Tzu with opportunities to play with other four-legged friends.
