5. Chocolates
Chocolates are a delicious treat for humans, but should never be fed to dogs. Chocolate has methylxanthines that can cause vomiting, diarrhea, breathing problems and increased thirst in dogs. Signs can be seen in doses of 20mg/kg ingested while it may be lethal at 5mg/kg high doses.
6. Grapes, Raisins and Currants
The culprit substance in these food materials has not been identified yet, but abdominal pain, lethargy, vomiting and diarrhea after ingestion have been observed. Chronic and large doses of grapes can lead to kidney failure, an irreversible health condition that is potentially life threatening in dogs.
7. Mushrooms
Dogs that spend a lot of time may come across toxic mushrooms. It's important to make sure your pet never eats these, as effects can range from a short illness to death. Depending upon which category the mushroom falls in, symptoms include excessive salivation, abdominal pain, convulsions, vomiting, diarrhea and liver and kidney damage.
