Let's start with the basics: Shih Tzus are one of the cutest breeds, aren't they? With their sweet faces and delightful personalities, it's easy to see how Shih Tzus have melted millions of hearts. That's not to say there aren't certain challenges though...

They may have a bit of difficulty showing good judgement between a household item and a 'toy'. But you know you they're very sorry for being naughty, so you can't be mad at them for long.

Bathing them can sometimes be a bit of a chore. With their long coats, the clean-up after a mud bath can take quite some time! Luckily though, Shih Tzus do enjoy being pampered...

But it's all worth it when you see this face. After all, what's cuter than a freshly washed and brushed Shih Tzu?

They just want your attention, pretty much 24/7. Shih Tzus are super-sociable and they want to be around their humans all the time, whether it's for walks, cuddles, play time or those all-important naps.

They find interesting sleeping positions. Shih Tzus love to nap, and they'll dose off pretty much anywhere and on anything (or anyone!).

All they do is sleep...once they get comfortable, they're not going to want to move anytime soon.

...and sleep some more. And of course you can't wake them up because they look so sweet when they sleep.

Don't forget, they are stubborn. Shih Tzus definitely have minds of their own, as all owners know. When they decide that they really want to do something (or not do something), it's quite a task to coax them into it. But we think it's all just part of their charm!

What you call a lap, they call a chair. It doesn't matter to your Shih Tzu that you have work to do and errands to run, when they want to chill out for awhile, your lap is probably going to be their favourite spot.

They are quick with a smile. All Shih Tzu owners love seeing their pups smile and Shih Tzus smile a lot! These happy and friendly little dogs are adored by so many people that they certainly have lots to smile about.
