Owning a dog is one of the best and most rewarding things you can do for yourself or your family, and that is made even more pleasant when your dog is a cute and cuddly Shih Tzu. Even if you do your best to protect your pet, things can happen. Whether your Shih Tzu ran out of the front door, snuck out through a broken fence, or took off at the dog park, losing a pet can be one of the scariest experiences you have to face. There are certain actions that should be taken if your dog ever goes missing, but no one wants to talk about that even happening. However, you have to understand that this is a very real possibility, so you need to be prepared. Here are seven things you should do within the first 24 hours after your pet goes missing.
1. Search For Your Dog
The moment you have determined your Shih Tzu is missing, you should head outside and start calling and looking for it. More than likely, the Shih Tzu has not gone far, and it is in the general area from where you last remember seeing him. If you head outside, you may even be able to see tracks, hear it, or hopefully even see it.
