You know that working out can be a pain. Sure, you feel great afterwards, and you know that it contributes to a healthy lifestyle, but sometimes, it’s just hard to get up and moving. This is especially true if you do the same old repetitive thing, like run on a treadmill or lift weights at the gym.
Like humans, Shih Tzus also need exercise for the same reasons – to stay healthy and keep their weight to a reasonable level. Without exercise, Shih Tzus are more prone to obesity and the health risks that come along with it. They may even have excess energy that leads to bad behaviors – think, chewing up your furniture or being very hyperactive.
The great thing about exercising your Shih Tzu is that the two of you can bond during the experience. You both also get to enjoy the health benefits, as well as time spent outdoors. However, you may find that your daily walk around the block is becoming too monotonous for both you AND your pet. How do you break out of this cycle? You do this by implementing fun and unique ways to exercise into your routine. Switch it up from day to day, and the two of you will never get bored. In fact, you’ll have so much fun, you’ll forget you’re even exercising!
